seen or done a business plan before and want to know
what it should contain, then you can go to the demo
on this site to get an overview of a sample plan. You

Look
at examples but beware of amending for your own use
Whilst examples of business plans are available on some
websites, they are likely to be fictitious or out of
date because no company would be keen to publish its
actual plan. They may even be based on American business
plans, which have a different style. Certainly, look
at any examples to get a feel for the layout but if
your intention is to find a plan, written for a business
such as yours, with a view to amending it to suit your
requirements – be careful. The danger of amending
someone else’s plan is that you may miss some
vital considerations or aspects in your own plan and
it will be flawed when scrutinised by the bank manager
or investor.
The best example
is to write your own plan!
If you want to end up with a worthwhile plan, there
really is no substitute for starting from scratch. Select
a software package that provides a suitable format for
your business, with comprehensive guidance notes for
the content and work your way through it. In this way
you will have considered all the aspects in detail and
acquired a complete understanding of what has been written.
You will then be in a strong position to answer any
queries when confronted by the bank manager or investor.
Furthermore, a software product will be interactive
which will make alterations or updates a lot easier.
